Prepaid Airtime Service

smsweb provides schools with an exciting income generating opportunity through our prepaid airtime service. The service works as follows:

School assists with promoting Vodacom prepaid airtime to its parents/learners/
friends/family - in fact, anyone supporting your school can participate
smsweb provides all the necessary forms and instructions on how to register.
Supporters can choose regular monthly amounts to be deducted from their bank account, and which will be used to top-up their airtime on a fixed date each month.
Participants receive confirmation of top-up via SMS.
School receives monthly commission income from smsweb based on how much airtime was purchased by its community of supporters.

Benefits to School

A monthly commission of 3% for all Vodacom prepaid airtime purchased from smsweb by a school's parents/learners/friends/family.
School does not need to do any work, apart from encouraging parents to support the initiative.
As an example - If only 100 parents in a school purchased an average of R200 airtime per month, a school would earn R7200 annually.

Benefits to Parents, Learners, Friends & Family

Free airtime - Up to 5% extra free airtime on all purchases. For example, a R100 purchase will result in R105 worth of airtime being topped up.
Convenience - Airtime is topped up virtually, and each top-up is confirmed via an SMS message. No more need to carry cash, visit shops, dial in or type in PIN's.
Manageability - Prepaid customers get the benefit of contract, without the hassles of applying for a contract. Parents can budget by specifying amounts and frequency of airtime top-ups for their entire family.
Helping Schools - Knowing that their child's school derive benefit from commissions on airtime sales, instead of all the commission going to corner shops and convenience airtime dealers.
