This policy covers how smsweb treats personal information that our service collects and receives, including information related to your past use of smsweb and your communications with smsweb. Personal information is information about your institution that is personally identifiable like your institution’s, your institution’s members’, parents’ or students’ names, addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, or Identification numbers, and that is not otherwise publicly available.

This policy does not apply to the practices of companies that smsweb (Pty) Ltd. does not own or control, or to people that smsweb (Pty) Ltd does not employ or manage.

Information Collection and Use

smsweb collects personal information when you register with smsweb and when you use our service. smsweb may combine information about you that we have with information we obtain from business partners or other companies.

When you register we ask for information such as your institution’s name, email address, postal code and contact names and numbers. Once you have registered with smsweb and signed in to our services, we collect information about your institutions members, students, learners, parents and/or guardians, such as names, cellular numbers and identification numbers.

smsweb collects information about your transactions with us and with some of our business partners.

smsweb automatically receives and records information on our server logs from your browser, including your IP Address, and the page you request.
smsweb uses information for the following general purposes:

To enable your institution to communicate with your members, parents, guardians or students via SMS messages from the smsweb web site.

Information Sharing and Disclosure

smsweb does not rent, sell, or share personal information about your institution, your parents, guardians or students, with other people or non-affiliated companies.

We respond to subpoenas, court orders, or legal process, or to establish or exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims;

If we believe it is necessary to share information in order to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, violations of smsweb's terms of use, or as otherwise required by law.

We will transfer information about you if smsweb is acquired by or merged with another company. In this event, smsweb will notify you before information about you is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

Your Ability to Edit and Delete Your Account Information and Preferences

You can edit your smsweb account information, including your contact information at any time.

We reserve the right to send your institution certain communications relating to the smsweb service, such as service announcements and administrative messages that are considered part of your smsweb account, without offering you the opportunity to opt-out of receiving them.

You can request to delete your institution from smsweb by contacting us via any of the methods listed under the Contact Us section on the smsweb web site.

Confidentiality and Security

Upon registration we provide your institution with a username and password, which will allow you to view, edit, delete and communicate to your institution’s members’, parents, guardians or students. You are responsible for the security of this password and should you become aware of any breach in security, you should notify smsweb immediately in order to change your login information.

We have physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that protect personal information about you and your institution’s community members.

Your smsweb Account Information is password-protected.

Your smsweb password is encrypted.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

smsweb may update this policy at any time. By continuing to use this service, you accept the new wording in any future Privacy Policy.
